one of the biggest paradoxes in life that I can think of is putting a teenager into highschool. The purpose of highschool is to systematically train young people to be adequate members of society, or to at least get into a decent college. The teenage agenda is to improve their social life, party, get laid, get away from their parents, and party. Although this sounds like a case of stating the obvious, if we take a step back we could truly see that a highschool is probably the worst place to spend one's teen years. Practically a shark pit in which one doesn't want to get singled out, blend in, or ever get caught, highschool will warp the mind and fuck the senses. Sometimes teens friends become more meaningful than their family, or a teen will bury themselves into an exclusive relationship because they are getting something from that person that they could never get at home. If a parent were to truly analyze their child's friends that they so hate, they would only see a reflection of their owm incompetence. The teen is under pressure to make everyone aound them happy that they can never stop and think of what kind of person they themselves want to be. Peer pressure, sexual confusion, bodyy image, low self esteem, and pressure to do well in school (which is only because they don't want to get in trouble with their parents, rarely because they actually care) only add to the mix. Who the fuck thought highschool would be a good idea???!!!! a teen should spend their days running around in meadows and eating mangos instead. However it is possible that highschool is meant to prepare one for the cruelties and stupidities of life, but it is still not a nurturing environment for the growing mind and body.
